The Lagunita Writers' Group began over twenty years ago as the result of a writing class at Saddleback College. The writers decided to continue studying together and began to meet on a regular basis to share their works.

They hired their instructor who led the group for several years. By then, they had learned the techniques and were able to conduct the group sessions on their own.

After several different schedules and venues, they finally settled on meeting weekly in the same location. One of the members offered her home, and the meetings have been there ever since. It didn't hurt that she bakes the best cookies on the planet and has a fresh batch for every meeting!
