Wayne received his BA degree in psychology, sociology and religion from Azusa Pacific University, and his MA degree in theology and Christian education from Fuller Theological Seminary. He was associate pastor and youth minister in a small church in the California Bay Area  before moving his family to Southern California, where he continues his work with youth and in sales.


Wayne’s love of reading to and creating stories for his children and grandchildren led to his writing career. The protagonist in his first published book “Catching a Wave  to Sycar,” was inspired by watching and listening to his granddaughter, Sophia.

The moment fifteen-year-old surfer, Sophia Anderson, catches the biggest wave of her life, she knows something weird has happened. The wave engulfs her in a massive, endless tube, and transports her to a tropical island paradise in another world. There she meets Truson, the lord of all worlds, and is introduced to Norie, an amphibious girl from the dying water-world, Sycar.


Truson provides the girls with the power to transform into any bird or sea creature and sends them on a dangerous mission to save the children of Sycar. Risking their lives for the mission and one another, the girls discover that fear is no match for love.
